The early fallout from actor Jonathan Majors’ dismissal from Marvel after being found guilty of assault and harassment is already being felt. Inside is what once was Avengers: Kahn Dynasty now it’s only Avengers 5 according to Hollywood Reporter.

The multiverse saga spanning phases four, five and six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have a great villain: Kang, played by Majors. But with his firing, Marvel is making the first of many course changes we’ll see in the coming months and years.

The idea was that Avengers: Kahn Dynasty to be one of the highlights of the multiverse saga leading up to the last film of this generation: Avengers: Secret Wars. But with the actor’s departure, it seems that none of this will be possible.

Marvel Studios now has two options: find a new actor to play Kang or introduce a new big bad. Considering that probably no actor wants to be associated with Jonathan Majors or his character, it’s likely that they will introduce a major new threat in one of the films that comes out in 2024 or 2025.

Jonathan Majors’ conviction for assault and harassment is one of dozens of problems Marvel has faced in recent years. The studio put all its chips on one villain of the multiverse saga, trying to repeat the Thanos formula, and chose a new actor, young, but with a promising career. At the same time, several of their latest productions failed at the box office, received poor reviews from industry critics, and the plan to launch series on Disney+ did not work out as they expected.

Once the most successful franchise in movie history, the Marvel Cinematic Universe now finds itself without a clear direction, over-saturated with characters and storylines, with film after film of watching the hero on duty save the universe so many times. that this is no longer interesting.

Marvel Studios is facing a deep restructuring

Because of all these situations and problems, Marvel Studios is facing a deep restructuring that, in fact, began a couple of months ago, but which we will not feel in its productions until 2024. Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, during a conference call with investors after the announcement of financial results for the third quarter of 2023, it was recognized that the current state of many of the multinational corporation’s properties is in a state of disaster.

This happens not only with Marvel, but also with some Star Wars productions, Pixar, and even historical franchises like Indiana Jones. As a result, many productions were put on hold, and some returned to the writers’ room to rework the stories and make them much more interesting.

What happened to Jonathan Majors?

Once considered one of Hollywood’s most promising actors, Jonathan Majors was arrested on March 25 after the actor called 911 and said he found Grace Jabbari, his former partner, unconscious in his New York City apartment. Police later said they found signs of abuse against Jabbari. The actor denied any guilt.

Over the next few months, Majors was fired from several Hollywood productions, while several of his advertising contracts were also terminated, as well as new allegations from other people who were also victims of his abuse.
