After the Jonathan Majors fiasco interrupted Kang, the Conqueror’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the big question was what would happen next. Especially when the Multiverse saga was still unfinished and needed an opponent worthy of ambition House of Ideas. So the news that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the franchise was more than just a respite from the uncertainty. This is true, and for a number of reasons.
On the other hand, it was a brilliant play, introducing the legendary Doctor Doom in the most unexpected way in the saga. It wasn’t just about introducing a classic villain known for his varied abilities and strength. At the same time, Robert Downey Jr. would embody him as a kind of dark counterpoint to the brilliant and tragic Tony Stark. With a new character set to become the embodiment of evil in the future, Marvel is gearing up for a new phase that will culminate in Avengers: Judgment Day, perhaps the most ambitious film in its history.
But while this is happening, several questions remain in the development process. The most pressing question is which version of Doctor Doom – out of the dozens available – will make it to the big screen. To explore this topic, we leave you with five possibilities that Marvel could consider when adapting. From a multiverse traveler to a variant so powerful he could face Thor. Doctor Doom with the power of the multiverse
The most obvious choice would be the version of Doctor Doom that appeared in Secret Wars (1985) Jim Shooter, Mike Zeck and Bob Layton. The original version of Marvel’s greatest multiverse event not only showcases all of the villain’s combined abilities – from magic to technology – but also makes him the most dangerous creature imaginable. One who is capable of controlling all realities or even, in the worst case, destroying them.
In the story, Doctor Doom steals the cosmic power of the Beyonder, one of the most powerful beings ever known and the center of the multiverse. Which allows you to enjoy space opportunities that exceed all calculations. Thanks to this, Doom kills Captain America – among a large number of heroes – and also, Kang the Conqueror. Everything to finally turn into the likeness of God.
The above would be ideal territory for Marvel. Because although the Beyonder is not part of the saga, there is another being just as powerful and important as him. This is Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who has become the god of stories and the core of the franchise’s multiverse. Stealing his abilities will allow Doom not only to control reality within his reach, but also to defeat any hero who opposes him.
Doctor Doom with the power of the Infinity Stones
in the comic What if? Secret Wars #1 (2008–2009) by Carl Bollers and Jorge Molina examines what would have happened if Doctor Doom had not been defeated by the Beyonder in Secret Wars. This allows the villain to take his expansion plan to unprecedented levels of greed and scope.
To begin with, he encounters the Celestials, whom we met in Eternals — and also, just like Thanos, he travels the universe in search of the infinity stones. Only instead of destroying half the life in the universe, Doom took it all. The Gems’ power to destroy the great creators of the Marvel Universe.
Therefore, he later returns to Earth to dominate all of creation through the Infinity Gauntlet. Of course, the gems are now a danger that Earth’s heroes must overcome. But the future argument Avengers: Judgment Day, could show Doom must take the stones within his reach to begin the path of destruction.
Dumactus (Doctor Doom merged with Galactus)
IN Infinity Wars #3by Gerry Duggan and Mike Deodato Jr., published in September 2018, there is a version of Doom combined with Galactus. Anything that allows the villain is no longer just a threat to the Earth – which he is in all his forms – but for the entire universe.
Even darker, the so-called Doomactus is consuming planets and replacing all the inhabitants with Doombots, creatures created specifically to worship the villain. This dangerous creature is so voracious and tireless, enough to become the ultimate evil in Marvel.
Galactus (played by actor Ralph Ineson) will be part of Fantastic Four: First Stepswhich will be released before the event Avengers: Judgment Day . Could the big multiverse villain be an amalgamation of two of the worst villains known from Marvel’s alternate realities? This would be an interesting option.
God Emperor of Fate
The 2015 Secret Wars comic featured the most terrifying, violent, and violent Doctor Doom yet known in comics. This version, like the version from the 1980s story, steals the Beyonder’s power. Only the same thing happens to every version of the Beyonder in every universe.
Having transformed into a being of incalculable power, he begins to destroy all universes in order to create a single one. In this, the Battle World, it is a reality where only he is a god. The power of this version of Doom is so enormous that it rips out Thanos’ spine and rewrites reality, on a total scale that is hundreds of times greater than Scarlet Witch’s. What makes him the most powerful being in Marvel and the most brutal villain the publishing world has ever known.
Again, taking into account that Beyonder is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Judgment Day could tell how Doom steals Loki’s power. What would happen if he also stole the power of all the gods and powerful beings around him? An interesting point of view that will certainly be based on this option.
The most powerful Doom of all time
This brings us to the most powerful version of Doom ever. First appeared in Thor #5(2018) by Donny Cates, this Doom is a combination of many of the powers of Earth’s heroes and other cosmic heroes. But more than that, he’s a villain who combines the abilities of every character he defeats. What makes it a kind of unstoppable parasite seeking the greatest power at its disposal.
With the size and abilities of a god, this Doom faces Starbrand, Iron Fist, Ghost Rider and Sorcerer Supreme. Finally, he faces Thor and wins, making him Marvel’s most powerful being. Could this be the final fate of the Asgardian god played by Chris Hemsworth? Of course, becoming a springboard for Doom’s quest for power doesn’t seem like a very worthy end for the hero. But one might imagine that his death might have awakened the wrath of another god, the god of stories. This would bring Doom into conflict with the most powerful being in the Multiverse.
