One of the strongest announcements from the recent San Diego Comic-Con was the one regarding the next two ensemble films devoted to Avengers: Avengers: The Kang Destiny And Avengers: Secret Warsboth will be released in 2025. Well, tonight the director’s name of the first of the two comes out, and it’s a name familiar to Marvel fans: Destin Daniel Cretton.
Cretton has in fact already successfully directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsand had recently signed a multi-year deal with Marvel and Hulu for the realization of several projects, including a TV series and the sequel to Shang-Chi, which is likely to be one of the MCU movies that won’t hit the level of dates between 2025. and 2026.
Given the short distance that will pass between The Kang Destiny and Secret Wars, it was thought that they would have been shot back-to-back by the director himself to control costs: apparently, however, the announcement regarding Cretton is limited to the first film, of which virtually nothing is known apart from the title and the relative villain, mentioned in the serial Loki and which will soon be presented in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
