STARZPLAY, STARZ’s international premium streaming service, has announced that Eréndira Ibarra (The Matrix Resurrections, Ingobernable) joined the cast of the six-part drama series Yellow (working title) as a recurring character. Yellow is the first original Spanish language STARZPLAY series available on STARZPLAY platforms in Europe and Latin America. The series will also be available on Pantaya in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Eréndira Ibarra will play detective Rojo, who always has a strange effect on others: her very presence manages to undermine the insecurity of those around her. She is cold, dry and her terribly obsessive personality forces her to classify people as witnesses, suspects or colleagues. A workaholic with no family or friends. But the absence of distraction makes Rojo the best detective in the search for those responsible for a work of art theft.
Yellow is the story of two fugitives, Dan and Nico, who hijack a taxi with a manual transmission to escape the authorities after stealing a work of art. Realizing that the car does not have an automatic transmission, they are forced to kidnap Richie, the taxi driver, a former Formula 1 driver who wants to commit suicide. The three must constantly thwart his suicide attempts and come to an agreement: if he takes them to the border, they will kill him.
As previously announced, Tessa Ía stars as Dan, an extremely competitive woman who believes winning by cheating is worth double, and Lizeth Selene who plays Nico, her impossible love. Nico is sincere to irritating, has the heart and innocence of a child and lives without restrictions. Martín Saracho plays Richie, a failed former Formula 1 driver whose promising career ended after a catastrophic accident that forced him to retire from racing, and is now a taxi driver.
Produced by The Immigrant, with support from global producer-distributor Fremantle, the six-episode thirty-minute series is produced by Sofia Auza and Silvana Aguirre, both showrunners. The executive producers of Immigrant are Silvana Aguirre and Camila Jimenez. The series was created by Sofia Auza and directed by Sofia Auza and Silvana Aguirre.
