Olivia Newton-John, the star of Grease alongside John Travolta, has died aged 73. The actress has been battling breast cancer since 2017.

The announcement was made by the actress’s husband, who said:

Olivia left this morning while resting at her ranch in California. She left surrounded by friends and relatives. We ask for respect for privacy in this time of pain. Olivia has been a symbol of strength and courage as she continued her battle with cancer. His example of health and what he did with medicinal plants will still be continued thanks to his foundation.

Olivia Newton-John’s career peaked in the 1970s, thanks to her career as a singer and actress. In addition to her appearance in Grease, Newton-John also took part in the 1980 musical Xanadau.

In 1981 his singing career reached a peak thanks to the single Physical, which yielded several gold and platinum records.

Recall that her performance as Sandy in Grease allowed her to enter the history of cinema, as it remains the most successful music film to date.
