The translator Jason Isaacs was chosen to play an iconic actor like Cary Grant in the biopic series titled Archie. Isaacs has so far played the role of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series.

Jason Isaacs himself said in an official statement:

There was only one Cary Grant, and I’m not crazy enough to try to replace him. Jeff’s brilliant script revealed his struggle to escape the demons that plagued him, his obsession with control, his fears, his loves and his defeats. This is a man’s story, not a legend, and these are clothes I can wear.

The series is distributed by ITV and BritBox International. The show tells the story of the man, known to the registry office as Archibald Alec Leach, a person who grew up in absolute poverty and who, when he moved from the United Kingdom to the United States, managed to become an absolute legend. The show will also focus on the story of Cary Grant’s private life, his two failed marriages and his retirement from the stage.

Production of the show was entrusted to Cary Grant’s daughter, Jennifer Grant, and ex-wife Dyan Cannon, with the participation of Rebecca Hodgson.
