After lending his voice for the character of Philoctetes in the animated film on Hercules, Danny DeVito He also nominated for a role in the live-action feature film. The actor recently talked about it in an interview.
Below are Danny DeVito’s words:
Will I be in live action on Hercules? Of course I’m there, what are you talking about? philoctetes? If they don’t involve me in the project, they’ll be in trouble.
Obviously, all fans are looking forward to Hercules’ live action with Danny DeVito in the project. The direction of the Hercules film was entrusted to Guy Ritchie. The feature film will be produced by AGBO, the company founded by the Russo Brothers, which is increasingly being launched in the round, while the screenplay will be reworked based on an initial draft written by Dave Callaham.
The Russos will be producing the live-action of Hercules, but they wanted to point out that the film won’t be a literal adaptation of the cartoon.
I think we need to bring something new to the table – said Anthony Russo – as a storyteller I can say that from our point of view we are not convinced by the idea of doing some sort of remake to the letter. We didn’t do this with the Marvel movies either, because we think if you want that story, you can start reading it straight into the comics. We offer something different. We will do something that will be in the strings of the original material, but enriched with new elements.
