Official summary:
An outwardly frail child and from a proletarian family, Paolino plays football every day in the oratory fields of his city Prato. The talent is noticeable and, at just fourteen, he is called up to play in the youth team of the great Juventus, forcing him to move to Turin alone. He breaks his meniscus three times at the start of a career that may never begin. After becoming the top scorer and driving Italy crazy at the World Cup in Argentina, with the nickname Pablito invading everyone’s heart, his career takes another setback: he is hit with accusations in the ugly affair of football betting. Although the court acquitted him, the sports judge sentenced him to two years off the field. Immediately afterwards, however, Enzo Bearzot, who has always loved and appreciated him, takes him without hesitation to Spain to play that 82 World Cup that all of Italy will remember.
Private films, interviews with those who knew him in his intimacy, a repertoire of his most extraordinary tests and testimonies of his most difficult moments, the story of Paolo Rossi (along with Paolino and Pablito) is always pain, joy, sacrifice, triumph.
