In addition to the TV series about John Constantine, HBO Max will not even continue the project of Madame Xanadu, another character from the DC Comics comics. In both cases, Bad Robot had to stand behind the production. The John Constantine show was announced in 2021. The cancellations by the streaming platform linked to Warner Bros. Discovery continues, starting with the Batgirl feature film.
Recall that John Constantine was first introduced in 1985 in the DC Comics comics and earned his own series in 1988. Constantine was recently played by Matt Ryan in the NBC short series and later appeared in Legends of Tomorrow as well. Prior to Ryan’s television appearance, the much-loved character was played by Keanu Reeves in the 2005 film directed by Francis Lawrence, which, as already noted, is preparing for a sequel.
