After more than forty years of lending my voice for the character of Darth Vaderthe actor James Earl Jones has decided to retire and no longer borrow to preserve the character of the universe of Star Wars.

However, it seems that instead of being replaced by another actor, Darth Vader’s character will be brought back to life (yes, in voice) with the contribution of James Earl Jones. An artificial intelligence will use machine learning to rework the actor’s audio tracks to be used for Darth Vader’s character. It seems that this mechanism has already been tested for the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.

James Earl Jones has so far been the voice of Darth Vader in all the feature films and TV series in which the character appeared in the Star Wars narrative universe. Among his roles we also remember Alex Haley in Roots – The New Generations, Thulsa Doom in Conan the Barbarian and Admiral Greer in Hunt for Red October. Among the comedies, James played Earl Jone in The Prince Seeks a Wife and The Prince Seeks a Son.
