October 11 arrives on The CW The Winchestersprequel series to supernatural: The new season trailer is dedicated to John’s character. The show’s producer is Jensen Ackles, who will reprise his role as Dean Winchester, but will play the part of the narrator. Jensen Ackles’ wife Daneel Harris will also be involved in the project. And again, the show includes Machine Productions, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. The other producers are Robbie Thompson and Glen Winter.
Jensen Ackles himself stated:
After Supernatural ended, at the end of 15 seasons, we knew it wasn’t really over. Because, as we say, nothing really ends. When Daneel and I started the production company Chaos Machine Productions, we knew the first story we would tell was that of John and Mary Winchester, or at least a story of supernatural origin. I’ve always thought that my character, Dean, would like to learn more about his parents and their love affair, which is why I’m so excited to embark on this new journey.
The series is being written by Robbie Thompson, who also worked on Supernatural itself. The story is about what happened before Sam and Dean, and we talk about John and Mary, and how the couple tried to save not only their love, but the whole world.
