The name of the prize was recently announced Nobel Prize for Literature 2022that went to Annie Ernaux. We are talking about the French writer, author of the novel Gli anni, published in 2008, winner of the Prix de la langue française and the European Witchcraft Prize 2016.

The reason for awarding the prize is as follows:

For the courage and the sharp way in which the author has been able to explore the roots, alienation and collective equilibrium of personal memory.

In Italy, Annie Ernaux was published by L’Orma publishing house, and among her novels we can mention the frozen woman, who tells a conjugal story; The years, which have a biographical feature; and The Other Daughter, which tells of Ernaux’s sister, who died before she was born.

France had not received a Nobel Prize in Literature since 2014, the year Patrick Modiano won. One of the favorites of this vintage was also the author Michel Houellebecq. France currently holds the record for the highest number of Nobel Prizes won in Literature, thanks to 15 awards. Followed by the United States (13), the United Kingdom (13), Germany (9) and Sweden (8).
