Thor: Love and Thunder Taika Waititi has the rare honor of breaking a curious tradition at Marvel. The fourth film, which focuses on Thor’s story, makes the god of Asgard the first character to complete the tetralogy. Also perhaps saying goodbye through the front door of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and setting a good precedent for future productions. With his carefree air, this is a direct homage to the character created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby.

The studio is making a noticeable turn towards a darker, weirder and definitely experimental tone. At the same time, the superhero franchise is trying to take on its audience’s generational change. But Thor: Love and Thunder it moves away from the gloomy and pessimistic tone of the studio’s latest work. It’s actually a brilliant celebration of the protagonist’s long history. To his world and how he has grown – with difficulty and not always consistently – to a rare maturity.

Thor is no longer just a hero. Now he is a full-length character and an unprecedented search for his identity. Away from his royal, family duties and, for the first time, not reflecting some external conflict, he has no choice but to grow. This is how Taika Waititi approached the task of creating a new language for the god of thunder. From a claimant to the throne of a wealthy kingdom, a powerful Avenger, or the greatest hero, Thor seeks his place in the world. Will he find?

It remains to be seen what will surprise the film, about which little is known. But for now, something is clear. And it is that there will be three special appearances that will surely add interest to the story. Thor: Love and Thunder has everything designed to give fans of the hero a whole new dimension your world. And also to prove that it is worthy of a new story and, perhaps, opening the door for new superheroes. We leave you with three additions of great interest that the film will bring with it.

Gorr, butcher of the gods

the villain Thor: Love and Thunder It won’t just be an enemy to defeat. It’s also a link to a series of interesting stories that could find the perfect timing to tell. Thor’s last opponent, he first appeared in Thor: God of Thunder # January 2, 2013. And he is considered one of the most complex characters in the long list that includes the universe relative to Thor. But it also makes a curious connection to an even more intriguing arc: what symbiotes have.

According to Marvel mythology, Gorr was an inhabitant of a desert planet who demanded help from the gods. He not only did not receive it, but also saw how a significant part of his family died. Later, he was able to convince himself that the gods were in fact something more than just abstractions: the fact of their physical reality devastated him. This discovery caused Gorr to swear revenge.. In fact, much of his narrative revolves around his efforts to achieve his goal of killing all the gods.

So, one of the most interesting elements of Gorr is that he fulfills his ruthless goal thanks to the All-Black Sword Necrosword. The weapon was carved from the head of a Celestial killed by Knull, the source of the symbiotes. In fact, he bases his power on a connection to a powerful species. A caveat that could have been included in the movie and created a connection between the Marvel Universe and Sony.

Of course, the stories shot by the two studios are unlikely to immediately coincide. But the opportunity is open.

Zeus from 3 Thor: Love and Thunder

And a new mythological pantheon is coming to Marvel. In the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder It was possible to see a good glimpse of what would be Olympus in the studio’s Cinematic Universe. Also, a quick nod to Zeus, another of the gods included in the publisher’s world. The character first appeared in Venus #6 June 1949, signed by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. In the context of the comics, his birth and abilities are very similar to his mythological counterpart.

Although it is still unclear what real role Zeus will play in the plot Thor: Love and Thunder, several points must be taken into account. First of all, he has the same power as beings like the Celestials and Odin. So its relevance and significance is comparable to the inhabitants of Asgard. On the other hand, there is the fact that, judging by what happened, Gorr will be ruthless in his cosmic revenge. Will we see the destruction of Marvel’s Olympus, or will it be a presentation of its most iconic characters?

Mighty Thor or Jane Foster

Marvel Studios

Of course, this is not an unknown character, but the one who will be his alter ego in the film. Jane Foster has a long history in Marvel Thor mythology. The one who was the love interest of the god of thunder first appeared in Journey into mystery #84 September 1962 For decades, it was Thor’s impossible love until an argument arose with his father, Odin, in which he briefly gained immortality.

But in Thor: Love and Thunder take on the mantle of Thor. The story arc is taken from Thor #1, signed by Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman and published in 2014. According to the plot, Jane Foster is worthy to hold Mjolnir in her hands. Thor: Love and Thunder has been partially confirmed to be adapting most of the story. This includes Jane’s ability to pick up Asgardian weapons and the character’s tragic backstory. In the paper story, a new heroine suffers from fatal breast cancer and is eventually cured by the power of the hammer.
