Today’s evening brought numerous innovations to the narrative universe of silent hillKonami’s flagship horror saga that has definitely been neglected in recent years but is now preparing for a grand style revival between video games, interactive experiences and also a new feature film, titled Return to Silent Hill.

It was introduced by assistant producer Rui Naito, who unveiled the project by revealing that Christophe Gans, former director of the 2006 film starring Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean, will be directing the film.
Producer Victor Hadida and the director then commented on both the previous exploit and the new project, showing some images from the new film’s storyboards, interspersed with images from previous cinematic incarnations. You can see the part of the event related to the movie in the following video (we’ve already selected the start time for the segment for you):

Details about the plot have not yet been revealed and the storyboards show no recognizable scenes compared to those of the video games, but between the clips of the same one that alternated the video and the fact that the first two films did not include the macro-trama, you would think that it is an original work inspired by the second chapter on video games.
Filming and casting are still being finalized, but Gans hopes to release the film as early as 2023.
