A patient with botulism has died in a hospital in Nizhny Novgorod, RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The patient was hospitalized in critical condition with signs of botulism on June 17. The Ministry of Health said botulism was one of the causes of the patient’s death.
The first death from a botulism outbreak was recorded on June 24 in Kostroma. A 21-year-old patient was poisoned with lobio salad during a trip to Nizhny Novgorod.
In mid-June, an outbreak of botulism occurred in Moscow and other regions of Russia. More than 300 people were admitted to hospital with signs of poisoning. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against four people, all of whom have been arrested.
