Should you share a Netflix account?
Depending on the Netflix plan you signed up with and the number of compatible devices that can view content at the same time, your account can increase up to 12 euros per monthand that will become a problem.
Netflix currently has basic plan at a price of 7.99 euros per month, thanks to which only one compatible device can view content at the same time. In this case, while you can still share an account, the fact that only one device is allowed at a time already limits this case.
People who use shared accounts usually don’t use this plan. In any case, for each shared account, you need to add 3-4 euros to the 7.99 euros of the plan.
Problems will come with standard plan which currently costs 12.99 euros per month and allows you to use two devices at the same time. And finally premium plan This allows us to view content on up to four compatible devices at the same time and costs €17.99 per month. And it is that if you share this account with three other people outside of your home, you can endure a price increase of 3-4 euros per person. So, at a base €17.99 per month, if you split the account with three other people, it can go up to €9-12 per month and top out at €29.99 per month.
Essentially, Netflix wants users to find a better value subscription directly than finding people who want to share an account and knowing they’re going to release a basic plan with ads as early as November for just €5.49 a month. It seems that spending time with family and friends who live outside of our home is no longer worth it, due to lower ROI.
