The announcement was made by the Disney+ streaming platform itself via a Twitter post. Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes in the Percy Jackson TV series will join a cast that also sees the presence of Virginia Kull who will play Sally; Glynn Turman becomes Chiron; Jason Mantzoukas does Dionysus; Megan Mullally becomes Fury Alecto; Timm Sharp will play the part of Gabe Ugliano; Dior Goodjohn will do Clarisse La Rue, or Ares’ daughter; and Charlie Bushnell is Luke, the son of Hermes.
Production of the TV series began in June in Vancouver. Rick Riordan co-wrote the pilot with Jon Steinberg, while James Bobin directs. Executive producers include Dan Shotz, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, DJ Goldberg and Riordan’s wife Rebecca Riordan. The show is produced by 20th Television.
