The protagonist of Thor, Chris Hemsworth recently discovered a predisposition to Alzheimer’s on the Disney+ show Boundless. Speaking to Vanity Fair, the interpreter stated that he is ready to slow down the pace of work and also finish his journey with Thor.

The revelation came in the fifth episode of Limitless (available on Disney+), in which the interpreter had discovered a ten times higher-than-average predisposition to contracting Alzheimer’s disease after a series of genetic tests.

All of this stimulated something in me that made me think about taking a little break. So as soon as I’m done with this press tour, I’m going to go home and take some time to be with my wife and kids.

In the fifth episode of Limitless, Chris Hemsworth is found to have two copies of the APOE4 gene, one from the mother and one from the father, which would significantly increase the chances of contracting Alzheimer’s disease. One in four people has one copy of the genome, but only 3% of the population has two.

It seems that the production suggested to the interpreter that this reveal be omitted from the series, but Hemsworth himself wanted to leave it.

It could be a way of motivating people to take care of themselves – he said – and so that they could understand that there are different steps that can be taken in these cases, and that’s excellent. I don’t want to manipulate that into drama. If I hadn’t known about this diagnosis, I wouldn’t have been able to make lifestyle changes to prevent it. So I’m grateful to have the tools at my disposal to be able to do something.

Speaking about his experience with the character of Thor and the God of Thunder movie, Hemsworth said:

I think we should probably close this story. What happened could be the ideal ending, although I’m not talking because I’ve already discussed it with someone. There’s this hero’s birth, his journey, and then there’s his death. And maybe I ended up there? I don’t know.

The actor also shared his experience with Furiosa, the spin-off of Mad Max: Fury Road. It looks like this is the kind of projects he would like to do in the future.

If there’s anything that should remove me from my family, it should be constructive, collaborative, and positive. I mentioned this to my agent after my experience with Mad Max prequel Furiosa.

Meanwhile, this is the trailer for Limitless, the Disney+ and National Geographic series starring Chris Hemsworth that revealed the actor’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
