Netflix is going through a restructuring that could end shared accounts, and the fact is that the streaming service’s recent quarterly results have not been positive, and the company is not only going to take action on accounts, but it will also be more difficult when it comes to investing in new series. or movies or even in the renewal of series that are already in the catalog.
And now the blow has been taken by Space Force because since they’re pushing exclusively from Deadline, Netflix has decided not to renew a third season.
The decision to permanently cancel Space Force came two and a half months after the second season premiered on February 18th and had more than barely made it onto the most-watched TV list.
And the thing is, Space Force was an expensive investment in search of a sort of new “Office” but focused on space events that didn’t work out after the first season.
Space Force has been one of Netflix’s big bets lately, featuring The Office executive producer Greg Daniels as well as star Steve Carell. The series focuses on the US Space Force, turning the plot into a group of people in charge of creating the sixth branch of the military.
The series featured actors such as Carell, Malkovich, Schwartz, Tony Newsom, Dianna Silvers, Don Lake and Jimmy O. Young.
