If you believed that the universe walking Dead came to an end with the completion of its main series, you are sorely mistaken. AMC knows it has a very profitable product and will not hesitate to use it to increase production. To the already existing spin-offs, another one will be added, in which the main roles will be played by two of the most beloved characters in the franchise. We mean of course Rick Grimes and Michonne.

Although the aforementioned production company has made efforts to keep the first details of the spin-off absolutely secret, important information has been leaked over time. Of course, perhaps none of them were as significant as the one you will learn below. According to illuminedswhose track record of leaks from the world of film and television is usually accurate, the series is known domestically as Summit.

Note that the above does not mean that Summit is the final title of a work based on walking Dead. In fact, the marketing team will likely decide to use a different name to make it easier to associate with the franchise.

So what does “Summit” mean? Actually quite a bit. Its Spanish translation would be “Summit”. According to the aforementioned medium, perhaps those in charge of the series call it that because, in their opinion, the most ambitious project in history walking Dead. It’s the pinnacle of everything we’ve seen so far in terms of TV adaptations of the franchise.

On the other hand, it would be a way to make it clear that an unused movie starring Rick Grimes and Michonne will carry considerable weight throughout the story of walking Dead. It is even possible that other alternative productions will grow out of this story. That is Summit become the new main reference series.

Another equally important fact is that Summit will have a love story. AT walking DeadRick Grimes and Michonne started their relationship after being enemies, but they will be in the spin-off when they have the space they truly deserve. Of course AMC doesn’t want to expand it beyond what it should be, for that reason they are only considering content delivery. 6 episodes. But let’s not marry this idea, as its eventual success could trigger a sequel.

Besides, illumineds guarantees that filming this spin-off walking Dead will start in early 2023 in New Jersey. However, his intention is for the series to show territories never previously explored in other adaptations. The fresher, of course, the more attractive it will be for the fans; and perhaps also for that part of the audience that got off the ship a few years ago.

If filming goes according to plan, it is very likely that Summit releases at the end of next year.
