At the Army-2023 forum, the company Ruselectronics, part of the state company Rostec, presented two secure messengers – Impulse and Hummingbird. These apps are designed for mobile devices running Android and Aurora operating systems. The main purpose of instant messaging programs is to provide secure information exchange by minimizing the risk of data leakage.
The messengers were developed by experts from the Penza Electrotechnical Research Institute (PNIEI), part of Ruselectronics. It provides protection for speech, text, file and audio information and also allows you to create group chats. A feature of these messengers is that they integrate with complex solutions, including server software and tools, to create secure VPN communication channels using Russian crypto algorithms.
“Hummingbird” runs on the operating system “Aurora 4.0”, and “Impulse” – on the Android operating system. These messengers can work with or directly without hardware cryptographic protection of “Portal-10” information. They provide secure access to email, cloud storage and video conferencing in addition to messaging.
PNIEI Director-General Vyacheslav Funtikov emphasized that Hummingbird and Impuls can interact with each other despite different operating systems. This means users can easily exchange messages and search between messengers.
