VK added NFT avatars, featured a token showcase, and announced the launch of an NFT marketplace. The NFT section will appear in the user profile, where you can place tokens from your collection and you can transfer existing digital assets through a special service.
VKontakte presented an update at the launch presentation of VK NFT.
The social network launched the VK NFT service, with which the digital assets that the user has can be transferred to the accounts. A special section will appear in the user profile where you can place works from your collection.
For each token presented in the showcase, information about the owner, the value and the name will be presented. NFT can be installed on an avatar – it will be highlighted with a special hexagonal frame. New features will be available to all VKontakte users within a few days.
“NFT will open up new opportunities for users to express themselves and personalize their virtual profile, and for creators, new tools to monetize their creativity,” said Marina Krasnova, CEO of VKontakte.
VKontakte also introduced its own NFT collection. It is a generative image of several elements, the totality of which determines the rarity of the token. The collection is scheduled to launch in January 2023.
VKontakte plans to launch an NFT marketplace where it will be possible to buy and resell tokens. Thanks to the NFT storefront, users will be able to confirm ownership of tokens and see what others own, VK noted.
