The Last of Us: Does episode 6 show a key character from the second game?

Episode 6 Last of us This has generated a lot of talk. Mainly because fans of the franchise, those who also enjoyed video games, were able to identify possible appearance of one of the most important characters of the second game.

When Joel and Ellie are eating and talking to Tommy and Maria in the asylum’s dining room, at one point a young woman can be seen peeking downstairs with a clearly nervous face to see new visitors. Ellie, however, reacts negatively to her in order to scare her away.

Based on her appearance and the way she dresses, fans are speculating that it’s about Deanwho in The Last of Us Part 2 presented as Ellie’s sentimental partner. The foregoing, of course, has a fundamental role in the development of the narrative.

Neil Druckmann, showrunner of the series and director of the second game, supported the debate surrounding the aforementioned scene. Although the creative did not confirm the correctness of the version of the public, it did not refute it either.

Dina first appears in Last of us?

Fine, it makes perfect sense that she is. Aside from the physical resemblance to the character, an important point is that the second game doesn’t fully reveal the moment they met. Since the main characters have just arrived at the orphanage, it would have been normal for Ellie during her first stay to meet Dinah at some point.

Let’s remember that the series boldly recounts events that, although not found in a video game, enrich its story.

Also in the past Neil Druckmann hinted that Dina was one of the persons present in the first season Last of us. In March 2020, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, HBO celebrated it by sharing a video showing female characters from their series and films. Creative quoted the material on Twitter and commented:

“Now they have Ellie, Riley, Tess, Marlene, Maria, __and one more thing!”

The four spaces match up with Dina, as well as Anna, Ellie’s mother. Recently, there have been suggestions that Ashley Johnsonwho gives life to Ellie in the games, will appear in the series as the mother of the protagonist – through memoryObviously-.

So it looks like the showrunners are starting to show the pieces that will fit into the narrative puzzle later in future seasons.

It should not be forgotten that HBO has already confirmed this. Last of us there will be a second season to adapt Part 2. However, due to the complexity and length of the latter, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin believe that more than one season is needed to properly tell the story. Of course Dina will be included.
