Over the past year, the trade turnover between Russia and the United Arab Emirates increased by 68%, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
The minister said that in 2022, the trade turnover between the two countries reached 9 billion US dollars, a record figure in the entire history of trade relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
Thus, the total volume of exports to the Emirates from Russia increased to $8.5 billion, 71% more than in 2021. At the same time, imports grew by 6%, to $500 million.
“The UAE has retained its first place among the countries of the Arab world in terms of trade with the Russian Federation,” Manturov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
According to the head of the department, cooperation continues to develop actively.
Previously, the first establishment of the Russian chain Dodo Pizza was inaugurated in Dubai. In the first weeks of operation, the restaurant’s menu was replenished with pizza, the recipe of which helped create ChatGPT.
