At around five o’clock in the afternoon this Friday, many users on social networks made a registration. A heavy fire is breaking out in an apartment in a building at Carrera Octavia and Calle 39, in the east of Bogotá.


In the videos published by X platform users, it is seen how the flames can be seen from different points of the city.

Officials reported that While emergency units were investigating different floors, a house on the seventh floor of the building was completely evacuated.

The floors affected were the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth floors.

Fire Departments at Chapinero, Central and Kennedy stations rescued an elderly woman trapped in the middle of the fire.

It was then sent to the Ministry of Health to be transferred to the health center. Three cats and a dog were also rescued at this point.

On the other hand, emergency teams continue to work to determine the cause of the fire.

The final report of the firefighters states, “Support is requested from Enel, Vanti and Social Integration. The area has been secured.”

“The fire is completely under control, the procedure of the Specialist Fire Investigation Team has begun to determine the source and causes,” officials said. said.

The flames are under control for now, but rescue efforts continue in the building.
