One of the biggest complaints from PlayStation users is that the Sony console doesn’t have an official Pro controller. While there are alternatives like the awesome SCUF Reflex, nothing beats the official Xbox Elite Xbox. The PS4 had licensed controls but nothing with the official Sony seal. However, everything seems to indicate that Sony is working on DualSense Procontroller with triggers and other PS5 news.

codenamed huntall pointing to the device being ready for an announcement sometime next month, according to what they list in Try Hard Guides. While details are scarce, it looks like Sony will be following the same line with its DualSense Pro as the Xbox with the Elite controller: short stroke triggers grips interchangeability and the ability to replace the sticks directly. And who knows if a full joystick module to avoid problems with drifting that current management, including the console, is already suffering.

Pro controller to compete with SCUF and Elite

SCUF Reflex for PS5

According to Tom Herdenson, who has seen images of the controller, the prototype retains the classic PlayStation 5 DualSense styling but shows some key differences. One of the biggest changes is some buttons below the analog sticks that allow you to completely remove them along with their components. Sony calls them removable drives.

The prototype also features grips to help hold the controller, which also appear to be removable. According to the same source, it was also said that the DualSense Pro, will have important software updates. This could include a controller-specific app on the console itself, or a new settings panel to fine-tune its behavior. Although, again, none of this has been officially confirmed.

In terms of pricing or availability, it’s unclear exactly when the new controller will be unveiled or what its price will be. Considering the cost of the Pro controllers, with the Elite controller priced at 180 euros or the SCUF controllers priced over 300 euros, Sony can keep the price of the new controller under control between both extremes.

It could have been announced late this month or early next month, Henderson said, as Sony planned to announce new hardware. An event, yes, that will not include the new console, only related accessories.
