Sony has officially unveiled the PS5 Pro, its most powerful gaming console to date. With significant GPU improvements and an AI-powered mode, the Japanese giant aims to offer 4K gaming at 60 frames per second. While the focus has been on two graphics modes, the truth is that the PS5 Pro is powerful enough to support multiple gaming modes.
During the first practical consoles, made vrenture.com/Mark Cerny commented on this PS5 Pro Could Bring Loads of Extra Game Modes. This feature is common in PC games, where users can choose from a number of preset options that focus on image quality, ray tracing, or smart scaling. One of the most obvious examples of this is Cyberpunk 2077which offers alternatives for each hardware configuration.
“I’ve already seen games with three different modes ps5 pro“,” Cerny said. “Over time, we’ll see a more subtle approach where it’s not so much about resolution but about higher image quality through different strategies.”
The PlayStation architect added that PC gaming will play a big role on your new console. “It helps us specifically with the PS5 Pro. […] because they can see what they’ve done on a multi-thousand dollar PC and then choose what they want to bring to the PS5 Pro,” Cerny said.
PS5 Pro: More Gaming Capabilities, But at What Price
With the arrival of the PS5 Pro, players will have more options to choose frame rate or quality priorityThe two modes for console users – Performance and Precision – are not flexible and sometimes do not allow you to turn off ray tracing or certain features that affect gameplay.
Sony wants to put an end to the 30/30 debate once and for all. 60 frames per second and the best way to do that is to offer alternatives. The three game modes Cerny mentions are likely Performance, Fidelity, and Ray Tracing. On the other hand, some titles like Gran Turismo 7 – will allow you to play at 8K resolution if you have a compatible TV.
A document leaked a few months ago mentions that there are a number of requirements for a game to be considered compatible with the PS5 Pro:
- Increasing Resolution in Fixed Resolution Games on PS5
- Increase the maximum target resolution for variable resolution games on PS5.
- Increase FPS in games with a fixed frame rate on PS5.
- Use ray tracing or PSSR.
He 4K 60fps won’t be the rule and its implementation will be the final decision of the developers. Sony will accept games running at 30 fps that use one or two features of the PS5 Pro.
PS5 Pro will be Available from November 7 for 800 euros or 700 dollars. The price in Mexico is currently unknown, although rumors suggest it could range from 18,000 to 19,999 pesos. The console does not come with a disc reader or a stand to mount it on.
