Xbox now lets you stream your own games on the Game Pass cloud

Until now, Game Pass’s cloud gaming feature has been limited to games offered by the service, but that’s about to change. Microsoft has launched a plan to enable the feature Xbox Cloud Gaming for games in your library. This feature will allow you to access them from any device, including mobile.

Microsoft followed the path of NVIDIA and will charge users who want to access your library from the cloud. The only downside is that this option is at the most expensive tier of Game Pass, a detail that may bother some. In contrast, GeForce Now offers a free alternative with a time limit and ads, a model that Redmond might adopt later.

Xbox has expressed interest in launching a free, ad-supported version of Cloud Gaming, a strategy that makes sense for now. The latest marketing campaign assumes that any device with a screen is an Xbox, but it doesn’t offer the ability to stream native games at a reasonable price.

While this is happening, Microsoft has confirmed that it will update the list of compatible games and we’ll see more games in 2025. It’s likely that not all games will be candidates for the cloud, since the final decision on whether to offer the feature lies in the hands of the publisher, not Xbox.
