PlayStation Stars is the new loyalty program that will be free when it launches later this year. The idea is that the player has rewards for completing various campaigns and events.

PlayStation has a “Monthly Engagement” campaign that only requires: play any game to get rewardother campaigns require you to win certain tournaments or trophies or even be the first player to reach platinum in a title.

All PlayStation Stars members will have the opportunity to earn loyalty points. Points can be redeemed in a catalog that may include PSN Wallet funds and select PlayStation Store items. As a bonus, PlayStation Plus members who sign up for PlayStation Stars automatically earn points from PlayStation Store purchases.

Also, as part of PlayStation Stars, the company has introduced a new type of reward called “Digital Collectibles”, digital representations and collectibles of what PlayStation fans enjoy, including figures of beloved and iconic characters from games.

“There will always be a new collection to win, a collection to fight for, or just something great to collect for fun. We hope this new show reminds you of past games and gets you excited about the future of PlayStation.remembering the times of the game,” explained Grace Chen

This is just the beginning of PlayStation Stars and the program will continue to evolve over time with initial testing on this program before it’s released in regional stages later this year.
