Sony announced today: PlayStation stars, the new loyalty program designed to reward PS5 and PS4 players with rewards and bonuses of various kinds. These also include: digital collectibles, or digital representations of the most beloved characters in the PlayStation world. The nature of these rewards could immediately suggest some sort of NFT produced by Sony, but the company wanted to make it clear that this is absolutely not the case.

To reiterate, immediately after the announcement it was: Grace Chenvice president of network advertising, loyalty and licensed merchandise, to the Washington Post microphones.

I am definitely not an NFT. Absolutely not – Chen said – You can’t trade or sell them. They are not based on blockchain technology and certainly not on NFT.

PlayStation Stars, Sony’s Loyalty Program Will Debut in the course of 2022 and will be free at launch. Players can earn different rewards by completing different campaigns and activities. The ‘Monthly Check-In’ campaign allows you to play any title to receive a prize. In contrast, other campaigns require you to win tournaments, earn specific trophies, or even become the first player to earn a platinum trophy in your local time zone.
