Sony officially enters SSD for PC and it does so by launching the new product line Nextoragea brand already used for some SSDs designed for gaming and more specifically for the Playstation 5.

The new SSDs for computers were showcased at the Tokyo Game Show, the premier Asian event dedicated to the gaming industry. Sony already offers several memory cuts, Nextorage SSDs are available in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB versions. During the event it was possible to try the SSDs first hand and test their speed in data transfer.

The SSDs of the Sony Nextorage line use the interface PCIe 5.0 x4, with a speed of 9,500 MB/s read and 8,500 MB/s write. We’re talking very high-level specifications, making them ideal for gaming, but also for more productivity-oriented use.

For Sony it is another important milestone, marking its debut in a highly competitive market. Thanks to the know-how gained within the Playstation ecosystem, Sony has all the credentials to put Kingston and WD to the test.
