Google has started refunding users Stages. With a tweet, the Mountain View giant announced that the first have already started refunds for the purchase of games, digital content and hardware in view of the now imminent closure of the service.

Last September, Google surprisingly announced the closure of Stadia with the promise of refund all users for purchases in the Google Store and Stadia Store. According to what was reported by Phil Harrison, General Manager and Vice President of the Stadia division, users will be refunded in the closing note of the service no later than 18 January 2023.
Starting November 9, 2022, Stadia will attempt to automatically process refunds for all non-Stadia Pro purchases of games, add-ons, and subscription fees made through the Stadia Store,” reads the official FAQ.
Please be patient while we process these transactions and do not contact customer service as they will not be able to expedite your refund. We plan to process most refunds before January 18, 2023.
As promised in September, Google is therefore already refunding all amounts spent purchase hardware (Stadia Controllers, Founder’s Edition, Premiere Edition, and “Play and Watch with Google TV” packs), games, DLC, and in-game subscriptions. Everything is explained further refunds will be sent to the payment method chosen for purchases made on the platform and therefore there is no need to submit a refund request. If this is not possible, an email will be sent to the linked Google account, with all the necessary instructions to set up another refund method.
