Logitech is one of the most influential companies when it comes to launching peripherals. Whether it’s for gaming (with some flashy devices like the Pro X Superlight) or for work (with the fantastic MX Keys mini keyboard), they’ve filled the market with quality products.
However, in the Logitech universe, we find brands such as Blue (responsible for the Blue Yeti microphones) and Astro. Both made a name for themselves several years ago in different environments, with Astro being one of the most successful companies (along with Razer or MSI) in the esports environment.
Now, under the umbrella of Logitech, They have updated one of the most classic gaming headphones, the A10.with Gen 2, which I’m going to analyze next.

Convenient and durable
The first thing that catches your eye about the Astro A10 Gen 2 is the packaging.. The company assures that they strive to be carbon neutral. This is achieved by replanting trees to keep the footprint to a minimum, but we also noticed this on the packaging.
As you can see in this unboxing, the A10 Gen 2 they have almost no plastic in the box. It has been replaced with paper and cardboard, the only plastic we found is the one that protects the microphone (which, for that matter, could also be replaced with paper).
When choosing headphones, we noticed one of the features that I liked the most. They weigh very little, only 246 grams. and they are one of those that did not bother me at all in long gaming sessions.
They’re not the lightest in their class, as Logitech itself has some that win in this regard (the G435s we reviewed a while back), but they’re definitely pretty light.
One of the hallmarks of the first generation was the resistance. They could be “badly treated” and the truth is that they always turned out well thanks to very flexible materials. Here, this characteristic is retained, and the headband part provides more security.
However, at the design level what I like the most is that despite being typing they have removable pads. If the standard ones (which are quite comfortable thanks to the padding) break or become very dirty, you can remove them to replace or wash them – of course, with care.
The headband pad can also be easily removed, which is something I like because if you take good care of them, it means they will last forever. It’s that the ones with leatherette or similar finishes eventually wear out and if they can’t be replaced, you’re left without headphones.
The truth is that this is good detail in headphones, which they are stuffed with little things that add up to a very solid set.
The rails for adjusting them for each head size are tough. and they won’t move by accident, the coiled cord adds an interesting touch, the headphone cord is detachable and the colors are great.
What squeaked me the most was the microphone.. Apart from the sound, which I will now leave you with a sample, it cannot be detached. You will be able to raise and lower it, as well as slightly adjust it so that it is close to your mouth, but not in the optimal position.
If you bring it all the way up, you’ll have a kind of “click” that means it’s been muted, which is fine, but I’d love to have another quick access when muting the micro.
There is a volume control on the plug. which is quite ergonomic and well thought out for use without looking, but a microphone mute button would be nice.
Very playful sound with anti-scratch microphone
Well, the design is something I really liked and I think that’s one of the strengths of these headphones, but if we’re buying this type of device for something, it’s obviously for gaming (and socializing).
Here we notice that we are dealing with an entry-level device.. I’ll start with the microphone. I already mentioned that I would like the button on the “remote” to mute the sound, but otherwise the sound we get is a bit choppy.
Speaking at a normal pace, with a normal volume and without exaggeration, in the recording that I leave you below, you can see that yes, you understand me, but it’s not the most pleasant sound because it stings.
It may be my disc, but I recorded it in GarageBand at the highest quality possible, and it’s certainly much higher quality than what you can get on a media platform like PS Plus or Xbox Live.
But hey, you get an idea of how they’re going to listen to you, and if you can, I recommend you turn down the sensitivity a couple of steps if your device gives you that option.
Moving on to the sound we’re going to get, I think it’s very playful.. This means it overuses the bass a bit to offer a sound that’s great in games like shooters or the most cinematic, but you won’t be able to “get” it from video games.
If you start listening to music in HD with these headphones, you will notice the shortcomings, but in the end, this device is certainly not for that.
Drivers 32 mm and the cushions are not as big as the ones we have tried in other models, but still, at least in my case, they fit the ear well, and since the cushion is quite soft, they did not bother me during several hours of playing.
Upgrading the input range with very TOP details
In the end, I think Astro-Logitech- more than delivered. keeping good value for money in the entry range as far as sound is concerned, but with details that we don’t find in many high-end.
In addition to a sound that cannot stand out among its own kind, The best thing about these headphones is the design.. They are comfortable, you will be able to wear them for hours because they are not heavy and the pads are soft.
The fact that they can be removed to be washed or replaced in case of breakage is the most interesting point in their favor, and the colors available are amazing, and every user will find the one they like best.

At the end, there are little things that need to be improved, for example, the quality of the microphone or the ability to turn it off with a buttonbut if you’re looking for comfortable and affordable headphones to play with, these Astro A10 Gen 2 are a great option.
