When it seems that Minecraft, the best-selling game in history, begins to be less relevant, new news about it slips through.

At the end of 2021, we already discussed how this game became the most popular on YouTube, with over a billion views. And this is Minecraft already exceeds 200 million units sold and there is a huge community around it thanks to the many gamers who upload their videos to this application and many others.

Well, now this news surprised us even more as they want to match this video game with Jason Momoa’s apparently incompatible figure. Warner Bros is preparing a playable version featuring the Aquaman actor.

Now, it should be noted that this movie was first announced in 2014. After a director change in 2015, it was already announced in 2016 that it would be released in theaters for 2019. As you can see, it was delayed mainly because director Rob McElhenney left the project.

At one point The Minecraft movie was supposed to be released on March 4, 2022, but it was delayed to make room for The Batman.

However, despite the fact that nothing else could have happened, it still seems that cinemas would be far from this, since no tentative date has been given and Warner has remained silent.

Let’s remember that this trend of pairing a legendary video game with a well-known Hollywood figure who doesn’t appear to be a big hit is not new. We have the case of Chris Pratt and the Super Mario movie.

Despite all of this, those first conversations almost ended with Jason Momoa, who is currently positioned as one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, added to the great fame that video game films like Uncharted or Sonic have gained. Looks like we’re in for another possible success.
