Arm introduces 5th generation mobile GPU that is 40% more efficient

Along with Immortalis-G720, Mali-G720 and Mali-G620 GPUs will be integrated into Arm’s new portfolio. “Through these new GPUs from Mali, we are committed to bringing world-class graphics capabilities to the broader market of consumer devices more quickly,” the company said. Mali-G720 supports 6 to 9 cores while Mali-G620 supports 5 or less cores.

Another announcement made by Arm was the new computing cluster for Armv9, a CPU architecture introduced in 2021. In addition, Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720 and Cortex-520 platforms were introduced.

The Cortex-X4 is the “fastest” CPU the brand has ever produced, and 15% more performance compared to Cortex-X3. Meanwhile, the new microarchitecture consumes 40% less power than the Cortex-X3.

Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 cores increased efficiency by 20% and 22%, respectively, compared to previous models.
