British blogger Spiffing Brit posted a video titled “One Word Kills Your Steam Account”. In it, he decided to repeat the mistake made by the mysterious user and show it to the whole world.

And so, the word that turns out to be the main character of this story is “anti-establishmentism,” one of the longest words in English.

Changing the Steam profile name was disastrous for the account. Users experiencing this issue were no longer able to access groups, friends, profiles, and their inventory.

Even the Steam mobile app stopped working. When someone tried to view their profile, they only saw a blank page.

Interestingly, the reason for the failure isn’t exactly Valve’s invention. The bug resides on Akamai servers hosting game services from various companies such as Ubisoft, Riot, Roblox, and The Pokemon Company.

It is this hosting that blocks access to profiles named “anti-host”.
