This Wednesday (18), Amazon announced next generation tablets Fire 7 and Fire 7 Kids For 2022, with updated features and a slightly higher price. The traditional version starts at $59.99, while the new Fire 7 for kids is available on Amazon for $109.99 – the latest version released in 2019 was available to consumers for $10 less.
Both tablets are upgraded with 30% faster quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 40% battery life upgrade; This means that the devices can withstand up to 10 hours of use. Another innovation is that the micro USB has been replaced by an input in the USB-C standard.
The new Fire 7 offers 2MP front and rear cameras, 720p video recording and up to 32GB internal storage, as well as Alexa virtual assistant. Fire 7 Kids also comes with a one-year Amazon Kids+ subscription, a two-year warranty, and a child-resistant case in blue, red, or purple.
“The Fire 7 is our most popular tablet, and now it’s even better. This next generation gives customers more of what they love, better performance and longer battery life, all for just $59,” said Kevin Keith, VP of Amazon Devices.

According to Amazon, the new versions are “twice as durable as the last iPad Mini in drop tests” and are made from 35% recycled plastic. The packaging is also made with wood fiber-based materials sourced from recycled resources and managed forests.
As Amazon announced, the models are starting to ship on June 29, but are available for pre-order in black, light pink, and dark blue. Unfortunately, Fire 7 devices are not yet officially sold in Brazil.
