Kraft Foods Schweiz Holding GmbH, which makes Toblerone chocolate, has filed an application to register a sausage brand. “Toblerone” also applies to meat delicacies and soft drinks, learned “Vedomosti”.
Experts doubt that the company produces meat delicacies under the Toblerone brand. They suggest that the manufacturer’s actions are more likely to protect the third-party trademark.
Earlier, the Remit meat processing plant filed an application with Rospatent for the registration of the Tobleron brand. The company planned to produce triangular-shaped sausages under this brand.
Now a representative of the plant says that “the company will not take any action in connection with the appearance of a request from the owner of the brand.”
