It tracked users who uploaded it, including eavesdropping on them via a microphone and stealing other documents from their phones.
An ESET investigation found that the Android app “iRecorder – Screen Recorder” embedded malicious code as an app update nearly a year after it first appeared on Google Play.
According to ESET, this code allowed the app to secretly download one minute of audio from the device’s microphone every 15 minutes, as well as to extract documents, web pages and media files from the user’s smartphone.
Note that currently the app has been removed from the store and if you have installed it before, you should uninstall it from your device.
