Problems with blocking OpenVPN connections have been noticed in various Russian regions and various Internet providers.

In the list of operators in which the blocking was registered, some of them were mentioned, such as Beeline, Tattelecom, Dom.ru, MTS, Megafon and Rostelecom.

It is reported that whether there is blocking or not may depend on the presence of DPI protections in the networks of Internet providers. Blocking is accomplished by disconnecting the OpenVPN session after a few packets, which leads to the termination of the traffic exchange.

Some users note that blocking occurs only when connecting to servers outside the Russian Federation. But there are also those who face server filtering within Russia.

Recall that OpenVPN is a free and open source implementation of virtual private network technology to create encrypted channels between devices.
