Two-factor authentication in “Gosuslugi” became mandatory

“Gosuslugi” made two-factor authentication mandatory on the portal from June 1.

Two-factor authentication is an additional confirmation of identity when entering a resource. It can be a unique SMS code, a verification code in an app, or biometric data.

Biometric data of Russians are registered in banks. The person will be asked to say the text below the recording and take a picture of the face.

The Ministry of Digital Development believes that two-factor authentication will strengthen the security system of personal data, especially for those accounts that have “weak” passwords.

The plans of the Ministry of Digital Transformation to introduce two-factor identification in Gosuslugi became known at the end of 2021.
