The Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with a group of manufacturers, is considering the possibility of analyzing imports in Russia abroad, according to a Kommersant source.

In particular, the ANO Computing Technology consortium offers the Ministry of Industry and Trade an agreement on the list of equipment, the applicability of parallel imports, equipment from HPE, Acer, PureStorage, Basler, Asus, MSI, Delta Electronics, Palit, Palo Alto, Quanta, Schnider Electric.

Another source of the publication claims that a more extended list has been added to the Ministry of Economy: IBM, Dell, NetApp, Pure Storage, Fusitsu, HP, xFussion, Inspur, Cisco, Hitachi, Arista, Delta Electronics, Oracle, Quanta Supermicro.

Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak confirmed that the initiative is being discussed.

The Ministry of Digital Development believes that “it is possible to consider the issue of blocking balance imports only in relation to those products, the production of which has already been established in the Russian Federation.”

Data center operators and representatives of the quality industry believe that the quantity and domestic technology is not enough to meet the needs, and in case of restrictions, it only adds to the price. [Коммерсантъ]
