German household chemicals maker Henkel may buy back the Russian business within 10 years, company chief executive Carsten Knobel has said.
According to him, as part of the sale transaction, there was an agreement on an option with the possibility of redemption. But there are conditions to return to the Russian market. Now the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine is not enough. According to Knobel, to buy assets, relations with Russia “must radically change.”
In the spring, the manufacturer announced the sale of the Russian company, the buyer was a consortium of investment companies. The cost of the transaction amounted to 54 billion rubles.
The consortium that acquired the assets includes Kismet Capital Group, Elbrus Services and Augment Investments.
On the Russian market, Henkel is represented by the brands Deni, Pemos, Pemolux, Vernel, Losk, Persil, etc. The company also produces adhesives (Moment). In total, the company owned 11 companies.
