The enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex are working to create a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) “Sarma” with a caliber of 300 millimeters.
The continuation of the Kama MLRS project will increase mobility and safety, and will be able to use guided precision-guided munitions. The vehicle on the KamAZ chassis will have an automatic fire control and guidance system.
For the first time, the Kama MLRS, a modification of the Smerch system for rocket projectiles with six rather than 12 guides, was introduced in 2007. It was also mounted on a KamAZ truck and was supposed to have greater mobility when driving on highways.
