Viber’s messenger can be fined for failing to remove prohibited content, RIA Novosti has learned. The protocol on the courier will be considered by the Tagansky District Court of Moscow.

Messenger Viber may be fined for the first time for failing to remove prohibited content

According to the agency, the protocol was drawn up by Roskomnadzor, the document indicates violations of Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

The reason was the failure to remove certain prohibited materials, the specific content of which is not specified. A similar protocol has been developed for Telegram. The hearing date is not yet known.

At the end of April, the court fined Wikimedia 2 million rubles for failing to remove prohibited content. On Tuesday June 6, Wikimedia received its ninth fine since the beginning of the year for content that the court judged should be removed.
