WhatsApp is starting to add an interesting feature when it comes to image sharing. The messaging app in particular includes a new option for some users that allows send images in high quality and size from the edit section that appears before the media content is sent to the recipient.

The feature is currently in beta testing for WhatsApp users on iOS and Android, but will likely roll out to everyone in the coming weeks. When someone is about to send an image, a new button will appear in the edit menu, where you can select one of two different options. On the one hand, standard quality; in which compression is applied and the size of the image is reduced so that it weighs less and takes less time to send or download. On the other hand, HD quality; where it saves the dimensions of the photo.

wabetainfoThe portal that gained access to the new WhatsApp feature claims that images sent in HD quality they still hold some compression, so they won’t have the quality of the original photo; yes size.

This option seems to be complemented by the possibility of choosing the quality with which we can send multimedia content via WhatsApp. This feature is found in the app’s settings, under “Storage and data” and in the “Media download quality” option.
