The press service of “Yandex” confirmed the work on improving the location. According to the post, Yandex apps can likely measure the signal strength of nearby Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cell towers. This allows you to set the approximate geolocation of the device.
The interruptions in the determination of geolocation in Moscow began in May after the incident with a UAV in Red Square. Due to failures in the work of taxi and car sharing services, problems began. For some passengers and drivers, the pickup point is displayed incorrectly. Then Yandex.Taxi began to additionally clarify with the passengers the direction of the car.
