The test launch of a robot taxi from the Yandex company began in Moscow. This is a car ordering service controlled by artificial intelligence. So far only available in the Yasenevo region. To use the service, you need to download the Yandex Go application and order a trip. Its cost is 100 rubles.
In the first stage of the test, users who have already applied are included. In the future, access will be expanded for all residents of Yasenevo. To call a robot taxi, you need to press the appropriate button in the application and specify the pick-up and drop-off location. About 40 such spots are available in Yasenevo.
Currently, robotaxi only accepts one passenger. Users over the age of 18 can book trips. It is important to remember that, according to Russian law, there will always be a test driver in the car, who is responsible for the safety of the trip.
The Yandex robot taxi was successfully tested in 2018 in Innopolis, where residents made more than 60,000 trips, and then in Moscow. In total, unmanned vehicles covered more than 24 million kilometers.
