China’s cyberspace regulator is issuing new ones that govern restrictions on AirDrop and Bluetooth use.
According to the document, it will help in “maintaining national security and broad participation” in the spread of file transfer technologies at a short distance. In the case of the transmission of “forbidden or harmful information”, the regulatory body will transmit data on the violation.
The creators of such wireless networks must enter user identification. That is, they will oblige to transfer some personal data, including their names.
Last year, Apple restricted the use of AirDrop, first in China and then worldwide. This decision was associated with Chinese protests, during which prohibited information was distributed through the “airdrop”. [CNN]
