At the Cosmonaut Training Center. Yu A. Gagarin (TsPK), part of the state company Roscosmos, announced that the first crew of the future Russian Orbital Station (ROS) will consist of two cosmonauts. This information is transmitted by the media with reference to the press service of the CPC.
According to CPC representatives, each crew member will serve a wider range of missions from the International Space Station (ISS) and will carry more responsibility aboard ROS. This, accordingly, will also affect the training of cosmonauts preparing for ROS flights.
The press release also explains that next-generation manned spacecraft will be used to transport and return astronauts from ROS.
Earlier it was known that the process of selecting astronauts for flights to the RUS will begin in the period from 2023 to 2024. The press service of the CPC noted that in addition to the new cosmonauts, existing cosmonauts from Roscosmos will also take part in missions at the new orbital station.
